Building on the Kenyan constitution, the East African Community Youth Policy,Africa Youth Charter, The United Nations World Program on Youth and voices of thousands for young Kenyans, Organizing Committee of the Coalition for Kenya Youth Manifesto has unveiled a foundational document that will frame the agenda concerning the Youth specifically toward the 2017 general elections in Kenya through the mechanism of Kenya Youth Manifesto. The launch of the publication took place at Zetech University,Ruiru on 16 April,2016.The event brought over 1,000 young people, youth leaders, invited guests and two presidential aspirants.
The Kenya Youth Manifesto was created through the consultation of a diverse audience of stakeholders representing the youth of Kenya with the objective of upholding the values of a democratic state in order to provide a platform worthy of forming part of the central political agenda towards the 2017 General Elections in Kenya.
The Coalition together with their members are currently printing and disseminating hard copies of the manifesto for free distribution to various counties and organizations. You are encouraged to support with us in these efforts.Through the document,we anticipate an open intraction that will feed into the general democratic scene and stimulate proposals of transformative solutions.A soft copy can be accessed through:http://www.siasaplace.com/894-2/
The Kenya Youth Manifesto - of which the general theme is “Agenda ni Vijana Sasa,” constitutes the core of the projected youth agenda in Kenya. It assembles a huge number of young people from all over Kenya, from all walks of life, and solidifies the common goals and aspirations they share into a united philosophy. In accord with our partners and friends, the Coalition will endeavor to generate policies proposals and amplify practices that focus on challenges that affect the Kenyan youth in the 21st Century; and to present them to the 2017 presidential aspirants, major political parties, County Governments, the private-sector, and the public at large.
Sincerely,
Willice ONYANGO Convener, Coalition for Kenya Youth Manifesto
