Barbara Morrison was raised in a suburb of Detroit, sang as a child, mostly in church. Success in a talent contest was rewarded with a scholarship to Eastern Michigan University. In 1973 Ms. Morrison teamed up with Eddie ‘Cleanhead’ Vinson, and later toured the USA and Europe and recorded with R&B legend Johnny Otis.

Ms. Morrison celebrates over 30 years in the music industry. She has performed with a virtual “who’s who” of the Jazz and the Blues worlds, including legendary greats; Dizzy Gillespie, Ray Charles, James Moody, Ron Carter, Etta James, Esther Phillips, David T. Walker, Jimmy Smith, Johnny Otis, Dr. John, Kenny Burrell, Terence Blanchard, Joe Sample, Cedar Walton, Nancy Wilson, Mel Torme, Joe Williams, Tony Bennett, and Keb’ Mo. Additional, Ms. Morrison guest stars with the Count Basie Orchestra, the Clayton-Hamilton Orchestra and Doc Severinsen’s Big Band. Ms. Morrison sings in a ringing soul-inflected jazz style and her striking and exuberant personality shines through her voice
