Ms. White is a behavioral health professional in the public sector. She holds a Masters Degree in Sociology from California State University, Hayward and aBachelor Degree in Psychology from The College of Staten Island, N.Y. Barbara relocated to California from New York two decades ago. She held several directorship and management positions with non-profit organizations in the East Bay and she worked in other governmental agencies on the east coast. Throughout, her more than 30-year career in social service, mental health, health, criminal justice, substance use disorder and cultural competency fields she gained an extensive background working with diverse populations in a range of settings. She also served in the United States Army Reserves. Barbara has been a civil and human rights activist and community organizer throughout most of her life. She considers herself to be a spiritual being and she values her relationship with the creator. Ms. White views her most important roles as that of wife, mother and grandmother.
