President​ ​and​ ​Founder​ ​of​ ​Biostrand​ ​Inc.​ ​Ronald​ ​L.​ ​Thomas​ ​Sr.​ ​was​ ​born​ ​October​ ​15,​ ​1955​ ​and began​ ​his​ ​journey​ ​in​ ​the​ ​beauty​ ​industry​ ​at​ ​the​ ​age​ ​of​ ​12​ ​years​ ​old.​ ​ ​He​ ​was​ ​a​ ​business​ ​apprentice​ ​to​ ​his Uncle​ ​David​ ​Moss.​ ​ ​Ron​ ​Thomas​ ​Sr.​ ​began​ ​in​ ​technical​ ​training​ ​in​ ​the​ ​industry​ ​of​ ​computers​ ​all​ ​the​ ​while continuing​ ​in​ ​beauty​ ​school​ ​part-time.​ ​After​ ​12​ ​years​ ​in​ ​the​ ​computer​ ​industry,​ ​6​ ​years​ ​of​ ​which​ ​were​ ​in mid-level​ ​management,​ ​Ron​ ​Sr.​ ​left​ ​the​ ​computer​ ​world​ ​and​ ​entered​ ​the​ ​Cosmetology​ ​Industry​ ​full-time. In​ ​the​ ​last​ ​quarter​ ​of​ ​1984​ ​as​ ​a​ ​graduate​ ​of​ ​Wilfred​ ​Academy​ ​in​ ​downtown​ ​Chicago,​ ​almost​ ​immediately, he​ ​began​ ​researching​ ​about​ ​and​ ​training​ ​in​ ​salons​ ​that​ ​specialize​ ​in​ ​restorative​ ​value-added​ ​ingredients. He​ ​worked​ ​for​ ​a​ ​number​ ​of​ ​upscale​ ​salon​ ​groups​ ​where​ ​he​ ​developed​ ​an​ ​extensive​ ​exposure​ ​to​ ​varying hairstyles​ ​and​ ​types.​ ​Ron’s​ ​experiences​ ​triggered​ ​over​ ​10​ ​years​ ​of​ ​research​ ​and​ ​opened​ ​the​ ​door​ ​to​ ​a new​ ​look​ ​at​ ​how​ ​hair​ ​functions.​ ​In​ ​1986​ ​Ron​ ​Sr.​ ​opened​ ​his​ ​first​ ​salon/spa​ ​in​ ​the​ ​western​ ​suburbs​ ​of Chicago,​ ​Illinois. As​ ​he​ ​continues​ ​intensively​ ​in​ ​cosmetology​ ​care​ ​research,​ ​Ron​ ​Sr.​ ​developed​ ​a​ ​theory​ ​called, Cumulative Chemical Exposure™​ ​or​ ​CCE​.​ ​CCE​ ​is​ ​an​ ​equation​ ​that​ ​allows​ ​an​ ​individual​ ​to accurately​ ​determine​ ​how​ ​much​ ​chemical​ ​application​ ​time​ ​one​ ​may​ ​have​ ​had​ ​prior​ ​to​ ​using​ ​Biostrand. The​ ​theory​ ​therefore​ ​takes​ ​into​ ​consideration​ ​the​ ​level​ ​of​ ​toxins​ ​that​ ​might​ ​be​ ​present​ ​in​ ​the​ ​scalp​ ​&​ ​hair based​ ​on​ ​one’s​ ​hair​ ​care​ ​history.​ ​Medications,​ ​stress,​ ​daily​ ​activity​ ​level,​ ​nutrition,​ ​water​ ​intake,​ ​types​ ​of grooming​ ​products​ ​used​ ​long-term,​ ​among​ ​other​ ​factors​ ​specific​ ​to​ ​each​ ​individual,​ ​are​ ​all​ ​evaluated prior​ ​to​ ​using​ ​Biostrand.
